Man in dark clothing hit by car in Lee County

A Montrose, Iowa man was struck by a car just after midnight Tuesday when he was walking in the 3500 block of Hwy. 218, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
In a news release, Sheriff Jim Sholl said Harley Ray Price, 19, was wearing a black jacket, black t-shirt and blue jeans when he was struck by a car driven by Leslie Isabell Deguzman, 41, of Keokuk.
Deguzman was travelling southbound on Hwy. 218 when the incident occurred.
Police say Price was taken to Keokuk Area Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. He was then transferred to the University of Iowa Hospitals by Air Evac. Deguzman was taken to Keokuk Area Hospital by private vehicle.
According to the news release, a call had come in Monday at approximately 11:30 p.m. stating that a person was walking in the middle of the street in that area, but deputies searched and were unable to locate anyone.
