The Blessing Breast Center in Quincy wants everyone to know that mammograms save lives.
The center is using the Mother's Day holiday to encourage women to get a mammogram Thursday at its first "Mamms for Moms" program. There, where women could come to get their annual mammogram and also get a little pampered.
"We all know women over the age of 40 know we need to get our mammograms done," Lori Wilkey, manager of the Blessing Breast Center said. "Sometimes it's hard. If we can do something fun for them to come in and get pampered a little bit, it entices them to come in and do it all the more."
Each woman walked away with a gift bag, had the chance to get a massage, and learned about diet, nutrition, and exercise.
There was also a booth set up to look at skin to check for any abnormalities.
The Breast Center is also selling special Mother's Day T-shirts for $12.00.
Proceeds help fund the financial assistance program that helps women who can't afford the potentially live-saving test.
