      Macon police seek public's help locating hit-and-run truck


      Police in Macon, Mo. are no longer searching for the driver of a vehicle that reportedly stuck a pedestrian causing life-threatening injuries.


      The Missouri Highway Patrol now says that the man who friends said was the victim of a hit and run was actually run over by his friend's car. Click here for the complete follow up story.


      The crash reportedly happened early Friday about 3:15 a.m. on Highway 63 near the Macon County Fairgrounds.


      A friend told police the 20-year-old man was struck by a southbound truck as he tried to cross the highway.


      The man's friends put him in a car and took him to Samaritan Hospital in Macon. He was taken by helicopter to a Columbia hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
