Macomb school collects Coins for Kids
The eye of a hurricane can leave communities damaged, destroyed, and disheartened.
The heart of a child can help to lift those communities out of the darkness and on their way back to normal.
KHQA attended an event at Lincoln School in Macomb Friday morning where little heroes are using pocket change to enrich the lives of those in need.
Here from students in the attached video.
Coins for Kids raised a total of $1,204.64.
That money will be evenly divided between two schools in Texas affected by Harvey and an area in Puerto Rico currently without power and clean water.
Teachers from Lincoln School also donated over 140 pounds of books to a school in need.
