Macomb's Mayor Mike Inman is asking for nominations for the city's Planning Commission.
Inman told KHQA News there are two openings on the commission. The vacancies have existed for about three months.
The commission deals will zoning and housing issues.
Nominees should be civic minded, able to remain objective and be able to attend weekly sessions at least once or twice a month.The Mayor is asking for nominations by next Tuesday.
There is a brief form to fill out for the nomination process. It explains what the position entails and asks for a brief background of the nominee.
Contact the Office of the Mayor, on the first floor of City Hall from 8-12:30 p.m. or from 1:30-5 p.m. Monday through Friday to obtain a brief questionnaire and statement of interest document.
The nominations will be presented to the full council.
Inman says he would like to increase government transparency and make sure the public is aware when committee positions become available. He is seeking an open nomination process from a broad based constituency.
