The Macomb City Council has now agreed on a $33 million budget for the new fiscal year.
The council adopted the 2014-2015 plan with a 7 to 1 vote.
The opposing vote came from Alderman Dennis Moon.
This was Moon's first time voting against a city budget.
The new plan projects a $600,000 deficit in the city's general fund.
Macomb Mayor Mike Inman told KHQA that this type of deficit hasn't been an uncommon event for the last four or five years.
The new city budget goes into effect May 1.
