This weekend is a pretty good example of how hard law enforcement and city officials work.
Cathedral of Worship decided to show its appreciation for Quincy law enforcement and city officials. They were invited to morning worship, followed by a banquet and awards ceremony. The bishop and his wife got the idea from their sister church in Ceder Rapids, Iowa.
They wanted to say thank you to those who put their lives on the line for community residents. Not only was this service about appreciation, it was about breaking barriers.
"Rather than us dividing, we really wanted our young people to see law enforcement in a different eye. To not feel threatened when you see an officer," said Bishop E.L. Warren.
"The Bishops message this morning was that we're all in this together. We should all comfort each other and we should realize that law enforcement all have rules in this community," said Mayor John Spring.
