Life is good, on the web, in Adams County

For years the Adams County web site has included the ability to search court records, a GIS map, inmate list from the county jail, list of arrest warrants, election results, and other features.

But it was missing a few interactive elements.

The Adams County, Illinois new website launched Thursday. Click here to check it out!

New features include improved menus, search functions, updated content and photos, information regarding FOIA, and online tax records. The new site is much easier to navigate.

Future plans also include developing a presence on facebook, implementing the calendar, and possibly adding financial reports.

The cost to redevelop the site was very minimal because the work was done by existing staff over the course of several months. The only direct expense was software purchase for less than $300.

Photos were contributed by GREDF, Quincy Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Arens Photography. Jennifer Arens, a local business woman, took some photos at no charge.

Each office provides content and input about their section of the site, but the overall layout is kept consistent. Feedback from the residents of Adams County is welcome either on the website or below this story in the comments thread.

The purpose is to provide accurate information and to make it easier for people to understand how their government works," said John Frankenhoff the Adams County Technology Director.
