Lee County leads Iowa in meth lab busts

Lee County Iowa is the recipient of a not-so-great title.

The county leads the state of Iowa in meth-lab seizures, Lee County Narcotics Task Force commander Stacy Weber said.

From Jan. 1, 2012 to Oct. 31, 2013, the task force seized 112 meth labs placing it above Blackhawk County which had about 102.

Weber presented his information to the Lee County supervisors last week. He was asking for support for an application for a $106,000 state grant that would help pay for task force salaries.
