Lee County gets new home for Conservation Department

The Lee County Conservation Department will get a new building after its old location was severely damaged by a lightning strike in April.

Lee County will borrow about $500,000 to build the new facility.

Officials say county residents will pay a couple dollars more each year in property taxes to foot the bill.

Conservation staff hope to be in the new building within a year.
