Law enforcement looking to locate suspect involved in home repair fraud
On Tuesday, the Quincy Police Department was notified by a local bank of suspicious transactions from an account of a senior citizen.
Several thousand dollars were paid to an individual for remodeling.
Officers went to the seniors residence and spoke with them.
The senior had a person come to the door and say he was there to do an inspection.
The suspect then told the victim that there were several thousand dollars worth of repairs that needed to be made in the attic - where the victim wasn't able to go look.
The victim agreed to pay several thousand dollars.
An investigation found that virtually no work was done even though the victim was told the work had been completed.
The suspect was later identified as 41-year-old Torrey E. Rickey with the last known address of Carthage, Missouri.
Rickey is wanted in several counties across Illinois and Missouri, as well as in Kansas.
Rickey is possibly still in the area with ties to Hannibal and driving a gray or light colored GMC truck.
The truck has a camper shell with Missouri plates OEB828.
If you have any information on Rickey's whereabouts, you're asked to please call the Quincy Police Department or Quincy Regional Crimestoppers.
