There was some post-Christmas excitement at the Quincy Regional Airport Thursday after mechanical problems forced a plane to make an emergency landing.
Airport officials said the plane wasn't bound for the Quincy airport, but needed to make a landing shortly after 1 p.m.
"Our standard procedure is to call 911 just like any other emergency, we dispatch our own personnel, firefighters for the airport. They man the airport and mark the airplane's approach and assist in any way possible," Quincy Regional Airport director Jared Hester said.
There were no injuries reported in the incident.
The cause of the malfunction currently isn't known.
