La Harpe man accused in burglary of firearms, coins and more

A La Harpe man was arrested Tuesday and charged with residential burglary, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of stolen property.

McDonough County Sheriff Rick VanBrooker reports that Samuel K. Boone was arrested when an investigation connected him to a Blandinsville burglary.

Firearms, coins and other items were taken in the October burglary when a suspect entered a property on South Main St. according to a report.

Detectives tracked down Boone and recovered a stolen firearm and other items in his possession from the burglary, Sheriff VanBrooker said.

More arrests are expected and the investigation is ongoing.

Sheriff VanBrooker says detectives are continuing to investigate Boone's accomplices and are trying recover more stolen items.

Boone is lodged in the McDonough County Jail awaiting his court appearance.
