January 12th:

Event: Tri-State Area Fundraising Professionals quarterly meeting
Time: 11:30am
Location: Kroc Center, 405 Vermont Street in Quincy

January 14th:

Event: Soup Supper
Time: 4 to 7pm
Location: Union United Methodist Church in Quincy, 1101 State Street
Help support these mission projects: gift of water, community gardens, food pantry, seed program, Hope latrines, building homes, health fair, medical care, Haitian Education, Save the Church. Menu includes Ham and bean soup with corn bread, chili, vegetable and chicken noodle soups, maid rites, desserts and drinks. Adults $8.00 children $4.00. Two adults with children under 12( family) $25.00

January 15th:

Event: Mart Heinen's 28th Annual QU Chili Cook Off
Time: 11am to 3pm
Location: Quincy University Health and Fitness and Hall of Fame room
$5 per person at the door, $10 per family at the door. Sample various soups and chilis and vote for your favorite. Raffles and cash bar.

Event: Adams County Fair Pageant 'Night of Celebration'
Time: 4:30pm
Location: Quincy Mall Community Room
The free event offers a runway show highlighting the newest trends in spring and prom fashions with local businesses at 4:30pm. Local businesses featured are our major pageant sponsors: Blessing Hospital, Yellow Kiss Boutique, I Do Bridal, Bergners and ‘Press Yours on You’ of Camp Point. Learn more at www.adamsfair.org.

January 16th:

Event: Keokuk's Martin Luther King Day event
Time: 6pm
Location: Bethel Church at 1217 Morgan Street in Keokuk

Event: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Celebration Program
Time: 9am gathering, 9:15 prayer, 9:30 symbolic march, 10am arrive at Church, 10:30 Dr. King Celebration Program
Location: 9am east side of courthouse. Ends at Mount Calvary Church of God in Christ, 1500 E. Pierce Street in Macomb

Event: Left Behind/Moving Forward Support Group
Time: 6pm
Location: Transitions of Western IL, 4409 Maine in Quincy
This support group, for people who have suffered a loss by suicide, meets monthly on the 3rd Monday of the month. There is no fee to attend.

January 21st:

Event: Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
Time: 8am to 10am
Location: Applebee's in Quincy
State Street Bank teams up for the second year with Early Childhood and Family Center (ECFC). Tickets are available at all State Street Bank Quincy locations for $5.00 or available at the door the day of the event. The breakfast includes pancakes, bacon and a beverage. All money raised will be matched by State Street Bank and donated to ECFC to provide technology in their classrooms. January 21st & 22nd:

Event: Bald Eagle Apprecation Days

January 22nd:

Event: Soup Lunch
Time: Worship at 9 am and Sunday School 10 am. Soup Lunch served 11 am to 1 pm
Location: St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Coatsburg IL
Free Will offering with proceeds to the Ursa Retreat House building project. Menu includes chili soup, vegetable soup, broccoli cheese soup, maid rites, hot dogs, chili dogs, desserts, drinks.

Event: Memorial Walk
Time: 1:30pm
Location: Rock Church, 307 N. 36th Street in Quincy
The March for Life began in 1974 in Washington, DC following the Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision. It is the goal of Right to Life of Adams County to continue the fight and to educate the public on pro-life issues. Our job will not be done until the voiceless have a voice that is heard. There will be the walk, the poster/essay contest winners announced and a short prayer service. For more information call 217-224-LIVE.

Event: 43rd Annual High School Art Competition & Teen Takeover Night
Time: 6 to 8pm
Location: Quincy Art Center
Teen Take Over Night is an evening when students and their families can enjoy live music, art by area High School students, raffle prizes, and appetizers. Area colleges will have an information table and representatives to answer questions about their art & design programs. There will be $1,475 in awards given during the award ceremony at 7:30 p.m. The awards will be in cash and distributed as Best of Show at $500 , 2nd Place at $300, 3rd Place at $150, 2 Merit Awards at $100, two Great River Watercolor Society Awards at $50, three Honorable Mentions at $50, three Quincy Artist Guild Awards at $25. Opening Receptions are the grand opening of a new exhibition. Receptions are open to the public and appetizers and beverages are available. There is a short Gallery Talk with the Artist. Please visit quincyartcenter.org for more information about individual artists. Donations are appreciated. Galleries are open regularly Mon. – Sat. from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Event: 7th Annual Prom Dress Resale
Time: Friday, 6 to 8pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm
Location: Palmyra Zion Lutheran School, 120 S. Spring in Palmyra
Hosted by the Palmyra First Christian Church. Dresses to sell can be brought to the school basement Wed - Fri 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Jan. 25-27. The sale will be Fri evening 6:00-8:00 and Saturday 10:00-4:00. There is a fee charged for registration of dresses and sale. For more information contact Nancy Goellner 573-470-0861.

January 28th:

Event: 13th Annual Wing Ding
Time: Doors open at 11 am, wings served at 1 pm, and judging will be at 4 pm
Location: Admiral Coontz Armory in Hannibal
Admission fee: $5
The Hannibal Jaycees Annual Wing Ding is a yearly wing cooking competition to see who makes the Tri-States' best chicken wings. The theme for this year's event is "WingStock" and the Jaycees encourage participants to dress in theme attire and decorate their booths. First place winners of the wing contest will receive a $1000 prize and the best booth decoration will be awarded $100. Registration begins January 7th, ends January 20th and costs $125. Same-week registration is $150. Space is limited to the first 15 teams to register. Rules and entry forms are available by contacting Jamie McCoy at 573-999-5073, Ashley Veach at 573-795-2559, or emailing jamiemccoy11@hotmail.com. The Wing Ding is a smoke-free, adults-only event and no one under the age of 21 will be admitted. More information is available at www.upatdowncountry.com.

Event: 5K Rooster Run
Time: 8am-11am
Location: Hannibal Jaycees
Registration fee: $20 until January 10th, $25 after
The Rooster Run is the kick off of the Wing Ding. Register for the run at www.hannibaljaycees.org or the morning of the run. Registration and check in begin at 7am. Prizes will be awarded for Men's and Women's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. A fun run will be available for kids. Packets can be picked up on January 27th at the Admiral Coontz Armory from 5 pm to 7pm. The race will begin at the Hannibal Jaycees building at 320 S. 3rd St. and turn onto South Main and proceed to Bear Creek Trail, then back to the start line. Walkers and dogs are welcome and all proceeds benefit Landon's Helping Paws.

February 18th:

Event: Fairy Tale Tea
Time: 1pm to 2:30pm; 3:30pm to 5pm
Location: Spring Lake Country Club in Quincy
Come dressed as your favorite fairy tale character, if you want, and enjoy delicious treats, crafts, photo opportunities and dancing with the many princesses and princes, and take home a goody bag. Fairy Tale Tea Tickets are $20.00 per guest. To register online with a credit card or to print a registration form to mail with payment, please go to: www.fairytaleteaquincy.com. Please indicate which seating you prefer: 1:00 p.m. or 3:30 p.m., and purchase tickets with those whom you wish to be seated. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration deadline is February 10, 2017.

Time: 9am to 4pm
Location: Oakley Lindsay Center in Quincy
Shop the BEST vintage & handmade vendors around at this fun & hip shopping event! Loads of shopping, food, and retro tunes to take you back in time! Vendors interested in participating can apply here. $6 admission fee. Kids 12 and under are free.


November 18th & 19th:
