LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -- A Kansas woman is accused of killing her ex-boyfriend after authorities said she drove to his southern Missouri home, shot him and set his house on fire.
Lawrence police arrested Annette Cross, 30, early Wednesday on a warrant from Missouri's Howell County charging her with first-degree murder and first-degree arson in the death of Andrew Day.
Investigators say Cross admitted driving from Kansas to a home in Mountain Grove, Mo., with another person Tuesday and shooting Day four times. Police say she also admitted setting a phone book on fire and placing it near a couch while Day was still in the house.
The Sheriff's Department says Day's badly burned body was found Tuesday when deputies responded to reports of a house fire.
