K9's chance to kick cancer

Canine's now have their chance to help kick cancer.

This Saturday, you can bring your dog, and your family to Quincy's South Park for the first ever Barkin' for the Cure.

The event is put on by the Adams County Relay for Life.

The actual Relay for Life is in June, and it's help to honor those who lost their fight with cancer, spotlight those who survived, and honor the caregivers.

This event is to honor the four legged caregivers who stand by their owner's side.

"We want people to come out, bring their family, bring their dogs, and have a good time with us. Should be a fun event. It's going to go on rain or shine, so we're praying for no rain," Amy Terwelp said.

Registration for Barkin' for a Cure is a 8 a.m., with a 5K kicking off at 9 a.m.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be food, entertainment, and vendors you can check out.

There's also a costume contest for your dog.

The theme is beach party and luau.
