An area college wants to make sure college-bound students and their parents are fully informed before heading off to school next year.
John Wood Community College is holding a " Wish I Had Known" program Tuesday night.
Participants will learn how to read a financial aid award letter, the best sources for scholarships and other considerations to keep in mind.
The program is free and open to all students and parents regardless of where they plan to attend college.
"There's almost a trillion dollars of scholarships out there waiting," Assistant Director of Public Relations Kristen Ritterbusch said. "You just have to go looking for them. Some of them go unawarded because people with those criteria don't apply."
Tuesday night's seminar will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the 48th and Harrison campus.
