Some businesses are tapping into artificial intelligence to enhance their potential.

On Wednesday, John Wood Community College will host a presentation with experts from IBM Watson at the Workforce Development Center on 4220 Kochs Lane in Quincy.

So what exactly is IBM Watson?

"It just provides more information to businesses in an easy-to-understand format," said Tracy Orne, Director of Public Relations and Marketing at JWCC.

The presentation is open to all Tri-State residents who want to learn more about business analytics.

Experts from IBM Watson will introduce attendees to artificial intelligence and explain how they can use Watson to enhance their business.

"Folks who are in human resources, marketing, sales, operations, even presidents of companies could benefit from this lunch and learn," Orne said.

William Stuflick is the Dean of Technology and Health Education at John Wood.

He says he's looking forward to attending tomorrow's presentation.

"Business analytics will be a new program that I truly feel will be much needed in the business community here," Stuflick said.

As for who can benefit from artificial intelligence:

"Any business of any size can actually benefit from Watson--especially the small businesses. Watson gives you the opportunity to have a marketing staff with you. A data analytic person for you at no cost to you," said Stuflick.

The presentation costs $30 to attend and there are still spots available. Lunch will also be provided. The event will start at 11:30 a.m. and end at 1:30 p.m.
