JWCC hits record retention rate in its 43 year history
More students are returning to John Wood Community College from semester to semester.
JWCC reports the highest retention rate on record. President Mike Elbe says retention is a key performance indicator for students' success.
He says it's the college's top strategic plan priority. President Elbe also says connections at John Wood are also a major component.
“Well I think to increase retention within our institution it’s based on relationships that we build with our students. The relationships between our faculty and students that are built in classrooms and the relationships that are built with our students outside the classroom,” said Elbe.
Here's what's next that could positively affect enrollment at JWCC. John Wood will offer a four-week online intersession this winter. This to benefit current students, high school students and out-of-district students.
