Jury: Percenters Club member guilty in armed robbery

Joseph Teel was one of four members of the Percenters Club accused of pulling a gun on two bikers in Quincy last May.

A Jury has found a Liberty motorcycle club member guilty of armed robbery against members of a rival club.

Joseph Teel was one of four members of the Percenters Club accused of pulling a gun on two bikers in Quincy last May.

Sunday, May 20, police arrested 54-year-old Zane E. Liggett of Springfield, 54-year-old Timothy Jackson of Roodhouse, 43-year-old Gerald Utterback of Barry, Ill. and 38-year-old Joseph Teel Jr. of Barry Ill. after tracking the group to the Percenters MC Clubhouse in Liberty.

Investigators say the robbery happened around 2:15 p.m. at 12th and Hampshire Streets in Quincy between two area biker clubs. According to Quincy police, two men from an unnamed club said they were riding through Quincy when a group of Percenters Club bikers approached them and one of the Percenters robbed them at gun point. The group then fled to Liberty.

Teel will be sentenced in May.
