Jumpy Monkey: coffee with a cause

Developmentally disabled adults in Macomb and Bushnell, Illinois are working hard to make area fundraisers sucessful.

They weigh, grind, package, label and distribute a unique blend of coffee together for school organizations and service clubs.

Those groups are selling "Jumpy Monkey" coffee to fundraise for their organizations.

Macomb High School freshman class, West Prarie High School, Girl Scouts and other groups have sold this coffee with a cause.

Administrators of Mosaic have just recently partnered with Jumpy Monkey Coffee.

Mosaic is a not for profit organization that operates group residential facilities and a daytime work facility for developmentally disabled adults.

Jumpy Monkey Coffee is roasted in Sioux City, Iowa by another not for profit company called Opportunities Unlimited, which is a work facility for traumatic brain injured individuals.

Mosaic makes sure it complies with all local Health Department standards, and the clients who work in the coffee distribution operation receive a fair wage for the work they do.

Mosaic would like to expand its relationship with Jumpy Monkey, and supply the coffee to grocery stores and gift shops.
