A sentencing date is set for a Quincy man charged with murder.
Vincent Carter is scheduled to return to court at 1:15 p.m. Jan. 10 for sentencing.
Adams County Judge Scott Walden set the sentencing date at a hearing held Wednesday afternoon.
Carter, 45, is charged in the Jan. 3 shooting death of Terry L. Williams, 53.
Carter shot Williams at an apartment building in the 200 block of South 11th Street. The two men were involved in a dispute over rent, police said.
Carter's trial was scheduled to begin Monday.
Carter pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. He was originally charged with first-degree murder. A charge of unlawful possession of a weapon was dismissed.
He now faces up to 20 years in state prison.
