Jesse James and partner in crime accused of Hannibal robbery, assault

Hannibal Police arrested two men after an assault and robbery in the 2100 block of Hope Street Monday night.

Jesse G. James, 22, and Grant A. Baker, 23, were arrested when the victim called police and said he had been assaulted and robbed at his residence earlier in the evening.

According to the victim, two subjects entered his residence while he was sleeping and assaulted him. The subjects took his wallet, ATM card and stole his vehicle.

Officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle and both suspects, who were taken into custody.

James and Baker, both of Hannibal, were charged with robbery 1st degree, felonious restraint and tampering 1st degree and placed on 24 hour holds at the Marion County Jail pending warrants.

On September 11, 2012 warrants were issued by the 10th Judicial Circuit Court charging James and Baker with robbery 1st degree (a class A felony) and tampering with a victim ( a class C felony.) Bond was set at $100,000.00 cash only.

Both James and Baker remain in the Marion County Jail.
