Jacksonville woman faces possible prison for throwing brick

Authorities in Jacksonville, Illinois say a 20-year-old woman who admitted when she was 16 to causing the death of an unborn child by running over a pregnant teenager now faces a possible prison term for alleged probation violation involving the same victim.

Assistant Morgan County State's Attorney tells the Jacksonville Journal Courier that police arrested Kayla Francis last month after she reportedly threw a brick through the window of a car in which the 2006 victim was riding.

Francis was charged Thursday with criminal damage to property and child endangerment.

Police say Francis left two toddlers at home unattended while she visited a former boyfriend.

Records from the 2006 case indicate that Francis and the other girl both said they were pregnant by that same man.
