Jacksonville plant to close: 47 people to lose jobs

In Jacksonville, 47 people will be out of work early next year as the Stratas Food Warehouse announces they'll close their facility and move the operation to St. Louis.

This decision has been made solely on business and customer need and is not a reflection on the performance of the employees and management team that have been running the facility, said John Frierott, senior vice president of operations for Stratas Foods according to

The Stratas warehouse was a partnership between ACH Foods and Archer Daniels Midland.

The company says the closing is due to a restructuring following a study on the needs of the companies transportation and warehouse needs.
