It's not real ice - but a winter dream come true

Synthetic ice skating will make its way to Quincy this winter.

Wednesday night the Quincy Park District approved the opening of a synthetic ice rink in Clat Adams Park.

The nearly 3,000 square foot ice rink called

River Skate

will be open November through February, will utilize Super-Glide® synthetic ice ... which gives the skating experience similar to ice rinks.

River Skate will be owned and operated by

River Skate, Inc

. founded by Chris and Marion Dye of Quincy, Ill. They recently relocated back to Quincy from Colorado and saw a perfect opportunity to bring this suedo-icy attraction to Quincy.

An ice rink has been on the wish lists of the Park District, GREDF and HQBD for numerous years.

River Skate, Inc. is proud to be fulfilling this niche in Quincy. Opening November 7 with a Grand Opening November 10 at 10 a.m.

River Skate will also feature a warming hut and light concessions. River Skate plans to offer special events and theme nights such as a Santa skate, princess and pirate skate, college night and date night. The rink will also be available for private parties, fundraisers and corporate events.
