Iowa lagging behind in corn planting

Iowa is behind the rest of the nation when it comes to getting it's fields planted.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says that while just about 12 percent of the cornfields in the nation have been planted, Iowa is lagging behind at only 8 percent.

That's compared to 62 percent of corn fields planted at this time last year.

The USDA says this is the slowest planting pace in Iowa since 1995.
