Iowa and Missouri hold sales tax holidays this weekend

Parents in Iowa and Missouri are getting a break on back-to-school shopping expenses starting Friday.
There are some major differences though.
Only in Missouri are basic school supplies like notebooks and pencils tax exempt.
Iowa's sales tax holiday mostly covers clothing and footwear under $100 per item.
Also in Missouri more than 160 cities and almost half of the counties are NOT participating.
In Northeast Missouri you'll still pay state taxes in Vandalia, Shelbina, Paris and Palmyra.
Pike, Audrain and Shelby counties still plan to collect their local sales taxes.
Illinois does not have a sales tax holiday this year.
