Industry benefit recognizes two organizations

The Rushville-Industry Music Fund is just one of the groups benefitting from the event.

The city of Industry Sunday played host to a benefit for some special causes.

For those hosting this benefit, it was a special sight to see the people that came out to support it.

It's all to help support The Rushville-Industry School Music Fund and Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry.

The Rushville Industry High School band plans to take a trip to Branson, Missouri in 2014.

The band director at the high school, Jody Worthington, is excited to see the money and donated instruments put to good use.

"If you look around, you can see that a lot of the music programs in this area are floundering. They're floundering financially, but also numbers wise, with the kids, it's hard to get the students involved, but if you have the proper equipment, then that just makes it that much easier," Worthington said.

If you'd like to learn more about supporting these two organizations, you can contact Jody Worthington at the Rushville-Industry High School, or for the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry at the First Presbyterian Church in Macomb, Illinois.
