Illinois State Police keeping a close eye on school zones

The Illinois State Police is reminding you to stay safe in school zones.
For the rest of the month, ISP is putting a strict emphasis on roadway safety in school zones to ensure drivers obey the laws.
Those laws require drivers to reduce speeds during arrival and dismissal times, avoid passing school buses with activated stop signs and no texting.
If ticketed for any of these violations you could pay fines ranging from $60 to $120 plus court fees.
