Quincy Public Schools will finish out the fiscal school year in positive numbers.
Business Manager Joel Murphy says it's due to the fact that the state made its payments on time for the first time in almost 5 years.
Murphy told the school board's finance committee Tuesday morning that the state recently paid last year's overdue payments as well as this year's payments.
The committee also approved a tentative budget for the next school year, which will be a topic of conversation at the school board's July 16 meeting.
