An arrest has been made in connection with an October burglary in Perry, Illinois.
The Pike County Sheriff's Department arrested 52-year-old Lester L. Prier of Waverly on December 2. He is charged with the October 3 burglary of the Fast-Stop gas station in Perry.
During their investigation of the incident, deputies found similarities to two previous burglaries that were reported in January 2012 at the Arends-Awe John Deere Dealership in Perry.
Last month, search warrants were carried out in Sangamon and Morgan County. Those searches recovered evidence which could be connected to several burglaries of Kubota and John Deere dealerships throughout Central Illinois.
Pike County Sheriff Paul Petty then requested a joint investigation that could possibly link more than 15 burglaries back to Prier and additional unknown suspects.
Prier is only charged with the October 3 burglary at this time.
According to the Pike County Sheriff's Department, more interviews will take place in the investigation and further arrests are expected.
