A North Bend television station (KMTR) tells KHQA that North Bend police arrested a man from Illinois Sunday on charges stemming from his online contact with a local minor female.

Police say 44-year-old Thomas David Cantrell traveled to the area to meet up with the 16-year-old girl.

Officers located Cantrell at the Bayshore Motel in Coos Bay where he was arrested on 19 total counts.

North Bend Detective Patrick Kinney says once he received a tip from Illinois police, it took less than two hours to get Cantrell in custody.

I'm very happy with the turnaround, because I don't know, had we not have captured him, I don't know what the outcome would have been," said Kinney.

North Bend Police say the teenage girl helped them locate Cantrell at his motel.

Aside from the local charges, Cantrell could face more allegations in Illinois and other states.
