The Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation is closing in on reaching it's goal for their annual fundraising campaign.
This year the theme is "The Healthy Way".
The Foundation set a goal of $180,000 and it's been able to raise $175,000 since October 2012.
The money that is being raised is going to be used to construct a walking trail around the medical campus in and around Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Right now, phase one of the trail is nearly completed and soon phase two will begin which will connect the trail for the entire loop.
"We are really committed to the health of our region, and fitness is one of the key factors in helping people get healthy and stay healthy. So the fitness trail will be a resource to our whole community. And we really want to be a partner in their health," HRH Foundation CEO, Wendy Harrington said.
In previous years, the fundraising campaign sponsored by the HRH Foundation helped fund new equipment for the Cary Cancer Center, as well as helping purchase equipment for the cardiac rehab at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
This is the sixth year for the annual campaign.
