Voters were hitting the polls since six Tuesday morning, and the turnout for this election was similar to the previous election.
Adams County Clerk Georgia Volm said the turnout is due to the amount of contested races in this election.
She said Tuesday's election brought in 30.11 percent of the voters.
She also said the county has incorporated more electronic registrations.
This helps keep track of where people are voting and prevents people from voting at more than one place.
Volm said this turnout was similar to the last mayoral election in Quincy.
There was around 32 percent voter turnout for that election.
