Holiday gift show celebrates 44 years
Sun, 18 Nov 2012 04:34:00 GMT —
Thousands of people are expected to walk into a Winter Wonderland at Quincy Senior High School this weekend.
It's the 44th year for the Holiday Gift Show and Sale, put on by the Quincy Service League.
Visitors can mingle through 118 booths displaying food, coffees and all types of gadgets.
The Quincy Steamboat Company has set up shop here for more than 30 years. Carl Veile says the event serves as an eye opener for many to the holiday season.
"Crowd level really depends on the weather and since this is a gorgeous weekend, the doors opened at 8 o'clock this morning and it's been non-stop since. Fantastic. It seems like we bring more and more every year, but we like to stay up with the trends. We keep the new trendy items in and of course the staples that everyone needs," Veile said.
Profits from this weekend's holiday gift show go toward community organizations and scholarship funds. The event continues Sunday at Quincy Senior High School from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
