High winds knock down power lines throughout Tri-States

Crews spend Monday afternoon trying to restore power in Lewistown and LaBelle, Mo. and Paloma, Ill.

High winds knocked down power lines in northeast Missouri and west central Illinois Monday afternoon.

Canton firefighters and police responded to a situation behind Ayers Oil around 2 p.m.

Crews found a power line down in a puddle, creating smoke but no actual fire.

Ameren Missouri crews came to repair the downed power line.

Canton Fire Chief Jeff McReynolds said lightning hit the power line knocking it down.

Strong winds knocked down power lines in the Lewistown and LaBelle, Missouri areas as well.

The Paloma/Airport blacktop was closed Monday afternoon due to storm debris.
