Help wanted sign to hang in front of John Wood Community College

A nationwide search is about to get underway to find a new president for John Wood Community College.

Dr. John Letts announced his plans to retire at the end of March at Wednesday night's John Wood Board meeting.

Letts has been with the college for more than 26 years, and has served as interim president twice.

He's been the current president since January of 2012.

Letts says he's been thinking about retiring for awhile, but wanted to make sure the board had ample time to find his replacement.

"The idea of giving them a good seven and a half to eight months was fully so they could identify someone so there would not be a void," Dr. John Letts said.

The executive committee of the board is meeting next week to start the search process.
