Heat-related school dismissals for Monday, August 25

Several schools in the Tri-States plan to dismiss early on Monday, August 25 due to extreme heat


Afternoon classes at the Early Childhood Center in Quincy are canceled for Monday, August 25 because of expected heat.

According to Quincy Public School District spokesman Shane Barnes, all other QPS schools and facilities will observe regular schedules.


According to Hannibal School District Superintendent Susan Johnson, Hannibal High School will dismiss at 12:30 p.m.

Hannibal Middle School will dismiss at 12:55 p.m.

Afternoon classes at both the Hannibal Career and Technical Center and the Early Childhood Center are canceled.

However, the Hannibal Education Center and all elementary schools will observe their normal schedule on Monday.


All schools in the Fort Madison Community School District will dismiss at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 25.

All Holy Trinity Catholic schools in Fort Madison will dismiss at 1 p.m.
