Firefighters in Marion responded to a hay-bale fire Monday morning in rural Marion County.
More than 200 round bales caught fire at a farm about a mile south of Highway 168 in rural Marion County west of Palmyra.
Palmyra firefighters were dispatched to the scene about 6 a.m. Monday. What started the fire is still a mystery, Assistant Chief Rick Jones of the Palmyra Fire Department said.
Jones said the bales will burn out on their own, but they're a total loss. No injuries were reported.
"They'll be smoldering for a couple of days," Jones said.
