Hannibal's Folklife Festival ends in record numbers

Hannibal saw one of it's best Folklife festivals in its history this weekend. Beau Hicks with Hannibal's Convention and Visitor's Bureau said Saturday's crowd was a record high in recent years. He credits most of its success to the weekend's weather.

Sunday, thousands of people strolled through Hannibal's Historic Main Street. Even KHQA's Melissa Shriver was on hand giving out funnel cakes. The streets filled with folk music and people scraping up their last bits of kettle corn. Even more popular may have been the turkey leg stand.

Hannibal Arts Council hosted this weekend's events. More than 80 exhibitors showcased their work. And more than likely, if you bought any type of food while you were there, you helped provide for 20 local community organizations.
