Hannibal sexual assault suspect headed to prison

Joseph Shuck, 29

A Hannibal man accused of kidnapping and sexual assaulting two women is headed to prison.

Twenty-nine-year-old Joseph Shuck was sentenced to 25 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Shuck was arrested in May after there were reports of a sexual assault taking place in a car in a Quincy parking lot.

You'll remember officers responded to a report of a sexual assault taking place in a car in a parking lot on the 500 block of N. 24th Street around 2:19 p.m. on Friday, May 3. After further investigation, officers learned that the victim was taken to the address of 7320 County Road 426 in Hannibal where the sexual assault continued.

According to Investigative Lieutenant Dina Dreyer with QPD, the victim was able to clearly identify Shuck as the suspect. Officers had Shuck in custody around 8 p.m on the night of May 3.

With the coordinated effort between QPD and the Marion County Sheriff's Department, Shuck was developed to be a suspect from a similar case that took place on October 21, 2012. That case also started in Quincy, and ended at 7320 County Road 426, Hannibal, Mo.
