Hannibal school looking for your votes

Schools across the Tri-States are hoping for a financial shot in the arm from U.S. Cellular.

The cell phone carrier is in the ending days of its Calling All Communities campaign, and Oakwood Elementary School in Hannibal would like your votes.

You can log onto U.S. Cellular's website, and look for the Calling All Communities link.

There you can vote for your favorite school.

The top 20 vote getters will get $25,000.

Oakwood plans on buying more Chromebook computers for students to use.

"They get to take them into their classroom, to their desk and use them with a partner. If we had more Chromebooks, they could work with different classroom at the same time. They can collaborate through our Google accounts. But if only one class has the computers, it's hard to collaborate with other students," Principal Denise Hudson said.

There are about four thousand schools in the running.

At last check, Oakwood was at number 66.

You can vote once per e-mail account, until Monday.
