An inmate died at the Hancock County Jail on Nov. 2.
Hancock County Sheriff Scott Bentzinger reports that William R. Clark, 63, of Sutter, Ill., died in the early morning hours Saturday.
Jail staff saw that Clark was having trouble breathing and CPR was started immediately, Sheriff Bentzinger said.
Hancock County EMS transported Clark to Carthage Memorial Hospital where Bentzinger says he was pronounced dead.
An investigation by Hancock County Coroner Kendall Beals didn't reveal foul play or trauma and a representative from the Illinois Department of Corrections also investigated the incident.
Sheriff Bentzinger reports that the preliminary autopsy indicated that Clark died of natural causes.
