Hackemack gets thumbs up from Quincy City Council

On Monday night the Quincy City Council approved Mayor Kyle Moore's choice for Director of Administrative Services.

Glenda Hackemack has served as the executive director of both the Quincy YWCA and the West Central Illinois Center for Independent Living.

She has also served the community through several organizations including the United Way of Adams County and the Madonna House.

Hackemack says she's ready for the challenge.

"The biggest challenge obviously is going to be the learning curve that's gonna be attached to it as comes with any position, "Hackemack said. "But I think with the help of the city council and all the administrative staff, there's a good team put together. So I think they can help guide me and we can move forward as a team."

Hackemack will start her new job on July 8th.

The Council also heard about a combined sewer plan that if approved by the EPA will take 10 years to complete.

And Mayor Moore announced the first of his Lunch in the Park events for this Wednesday at 12pm at Washington Park.
