      Guilty plea in boat crash that led to man's disappearance

      A Quincy woman cited for her role in a Mississippi River boat crash that left a Quincy man missing pleaded guilty in court Thursday morning.

      Conservation Police issued a citation to Carol O'Connell for careless operation of a watercraft. She pleaded guilty to the charge and received a $213 fine.

      Police say O'Connell was driving the boat that hit John Flaiz's boat, near Hogback Island, not far from Quincy on Aug 27th, 2011.

      Flaiz's body was never recovered. Police say Flaiz's boat did not have working lights at the time of the crash.
