      Great grandmother asks for clemency from Illinois governor

      A great-grandmother from Ashland, Illinois is asking for a commutation from Illinois Governor Pat Quinn.

      A great-grandmother from Ashland, Illinois is asking for a commutation from Illinois Governor Pat Quinn.

      That's according to KHQA's sister station, WICS in Springfield, Illinois.

      Shirley Skinner was convicted in an Adams County court of first-degree murder for the death of her granddaughter's estranged husband, Steven Watkins, in 2008.
