Good Samaritan Home resident witnesses second total solar eclipse

Janet Ehrhardt, 99, of Quincy, witnessed her second coast-to-coast, total solar eclipse with her great-granddaughter and great, great grandson at the Good Samaritan Home in Quincy on Monday. -

A 99-year-old Quincy woman experienced her second total solar eclipse right here in the Tri-States.

Centenarians experienced their second coast-to-coast, total solar eclipse at the Good Samaritan Home in Quincy.

The last time the United States saw an eclipse like the one today happened almost a century ago on June 8, 1918.

Quincy native Janet Ehrhardt was just two months old when the last one happened.

She said people got just as excited about happenings in the sky as we do today.

Janet will turn 100-years-old next April.
