The Oakley Lindsey Center board of directors will discuss a possible sale of the Quincy Gems at its monthly board meeting Wednesday.
Executive director Rob Ebbing said that the possible sale will be discussed at length Wednesday. The decision as to whether to sell the team is ultimately up to board members.
The board meeting is scheduled for noon Wednesday at the Oakley Lindsey Center.
The Gems are a part of the Prospect League, an 11-team collegiate summer baseball league that also includes the Hannibal Cavemen.
In addition to the team's future, the board is also expected to discuss the future of the position left vacant by the ouster of long-time marketing manager Dave "Chickenman" Comer.
Comer posted news of his release Tuesday on Twitter.
"Released from Gems today thanks to all for a great 7 years," he wrote.
