Garbage truck driver injured in Pike County, Ill. train collision

A Pittsfield, Illinois man suffered head injuries after a garbage truck was struck by a train Monday.

According to Illinois State Police, 43-year-old Christopher Miller entered a train crossing just before 1:30 p.m. on Hwy. 106 near Hull, Illinois.

The truck was struck on the rear right side by the train.

Miller's truck spun off the road and came to rest in a roadside ditch.

He was taken by helicopter to Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Miller was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.
